100th day of kindergarten!

Today was the 100Th day of kindergarten. Nolan is sporting a 100 hat with 100 stickers on it. His accessories include a 100 fruit loop-ed necklace. The 3rd graders mentor the kindergartners and came to help with each station. (Just so happens Ben is a 3rd grader and got to help!) They counted 10 sets of 10 snacks to make trail mix, flip a coin 100 times to see if heads or tails would 'win', built something out of 100 blocks, rolled a gigantic dice 100 times to see what # would 'win', put together 100 piece puzzles, and built items out of 100 Lego's. Whew! What a fun day....looking forward to 100 more!

It was so frustrating! Each of the boys that earned an award was given a balloon to pop that had the award in it. Of the 10 belt loops Ben earned, every single balloon he popped he had his back to me. geesh. Here is his backside.Chris and Nolan enjoying the refeshments.

White nylons filled with cotton. Way less mess, plus you can use them year-round. Ummm, did I mention it was 76 degrees today? The high tomorrow is in the 80's. Lovin' Texas weather.

Happy Birthday Ben!

I cannot believe my middle child is already 9 years old. It seems like just yesterday his big 3 year old sister, was building forts around our tiny baby boy with the couch cushions. Ben was born in Colorado at 12:01 a.m.- he made it into the 20Th day of January just in the nick of time! Ben's first apgar score was 0. He was born blue, with the umbilical cord wrapped tight around his neck 2 times. He was not breathing. Lucky for us, he made it through, and still likes to do death defying 9 year old "boy" stunts. Here are some fun/interesting facts about Ben:

*When he is a grown-up, he wants to be a police officer.

*Ben's favorite food is chicken croissants

*He weighs 75 pounds now!!

*Prefers a giant chocolate chip cookie to birthday cake

We are thankful for every second we have with him. Happy, Happy Birthday Ben!

From Junior Girl Scout to a Cadette

This weekend was Baylie's bridging ceremony for Girl Scouts. She is an official Cadette.

Dallas vs. New York

This was Nolan's first professional sports game. He was so excited. He really got into the game...he cheered and booed the entire time. De-fense! At 1/2 time the boys leaned over the tunnel to the locker room to high-five the players. One player gave Nolan his gatorade sweat towel. Nolan was not sure if he was supposed to be happy about that. (I guess he is not that big of a fan eh?)

Nolan was sitting in the yard for about 30 minutes having a full conversation with the dog. I overheard him tell her it was a great day!

The day after New Years we went to the Barnard's ranch and crashed their New Year's party. Fun Fun!! Lucky for us they are such good sports and love us so much. The fire pictures did not turn out so good. Makin' s'mores

Yes, it is January 2nd and 80 degrees. Of course Nolan and Ben stripped down to their undies and made mud pies. The freezing water did not stop them. (Breydan was smart and kept his pants on!)

The last day of 2008 the boys golfed. Baylie and I went to Target to get wrapping paper for .24 cents a roll for next year. I know...this is a pathetic post. Happy New Year!

Christmas

Merry Belated Christmas!

Baylie finally got her phone! The boys both got a DS. Alot of the pictures are blurry because they were freaking out opening them and wouldn't hold still!

The best part about Christmas was that Baylie kept saying how incredibly lucky we are. And we are. We have had tragedy strike around us this holiday which has made us all truly grateful for life, family & our health.
