E3000 Flying Disc

Nolan's 1st grade class had to come up with a mode of transportation for the future. Here is his E3000 Flying Disc that holds hundreds of people and uses grass instead of gasoline.

Where is Nolan?

I was 'lucky' & got to go on Nolan's 1st grade transportation field trip. I took bunches of pictures and could not find Nolan in any of them. I started thinking maybe he was standing by my side while I was snapping away and did not even notice. (you can click on the photo to enlarge it) But I finally found him! He had taken his 3D glasses from the movie theatre and popped out the lenses and wore them around the whole day. He sure does look different with 'glasses' on! ;) In his parent teacher conference the teacher asked me if I was constantly laughing with him. Um, yep! Yesterday Chris, Ben & Nolan were talking about a man that had been in a coma. Chris was explaining that he was still alive but couldn't move or talk etc.

Nolan says "yeah, that's a state you can go in."

Chris questions, "wha??"

Nolan says, "Oklacoma"

Chris then explains "you mean Oklahoma...the state"

Sean Jr's Football Game

Chris and I went to Georgia to watch Sean Jr play in one of his senior year football games. Jill and Nathan met us there from Chicago. Aunt Marni stayed with our kids for the weekend. Sean and Virgina made all of us shirts that said "do what you can" (a Jeppesen brother saying) with Sean Jr's #28 on the back. We definitely stood out in the crowd.

How gross are boys?!

We stopped at Sonic to get a drink and boys hopped out onto the hood and put their mouths on the yucky bug-smashed infested windshield. It is amazing that they have not contracted swine flu yet. gross.

Ice cream in town square with the Ricketts! After this photo Hannah got swine flu and did not even lick the windshield. Poor Hannah.

Soccer games

The boys wanted to play something different this year, soccer. (I miss watching them play baseball.)

why is there ALwAyS something else swimming in the pool

My kids, and all the neighborhood kids, fought over this poor frog for over an hour.
Don't let Nolan's cuteness fool you. He promptly got out of the pool, walked over to the stone wall in the backyard which backs up to a pond, and throws the frog as hard and as high as he could over the wall.

I hate that there isn't enough time - not enough hours in the day, weeks in the year, years in my life - to spend with these amazing little beings who I have the privilege of parenting. I love to watch them grow, but I hate how quickly the time passes and how these incredible days of their youth are going to be gone before I know it. For all the frustrations I have as a parent, the thing I hate the most is that there will never be enough time to love them.
